Candidates file for March 6 Taos election


The battleground is set now after Taoseños formally filed their candidacy Tuesday (Jan. 9) for the Taos Municipal election scheduled March 6. Two men will vie for the mayor's seat while eight people are running for two open council seats. The candidates still have to be certified by the town, ensuring they meet all the requirements established under the municipal election code. Only the municipal judge position has a single candidate running. Candidates will be certified by 5 p.m. today (Jan. 10), according to town officials.

As a proposed candidate for mayor of Taos, will you recuse yourself as Chair of the Taos Democratic party and the Town Council?
