Letter: Give Greek retsinas another taste

I just read your article “It’s all good Greek to her, but thumbs-down on the retsina” and want to thank you for writing about Greek wine.

Our winery produces a few wines, but we are known mostly for our quality retsinas.

As you can find now Greek quality wine, now you can find also quality retsina. We are the first who got an international award for our retsina, and since then we have 80+ international awards for them (92/100 from Wine Enthusiast for our “Tear Of The Pine”).

It would be nice if you could taste one of them and change your mind from “thumbs-down on the retsina” to “thumbs-up on the retsina.”

You can find our wines in Mass., Virginia, Conn., Ill., D.C. and are trying to expand our wine sales in the U.S. in other states too, hopefully to New Mexico too.

Retsina is something of an acquired taste. Some people wonder why anyone would add pine resin to wine. There was a good reason for that years ago. Now, it is something people enjoy paired with a baked lamb dish or spanikopita. Try it and enjoy.
