The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) protected nearly 800,000 Dreamers from deportation and provided them with work authorization.
The end of DACA now means that these young people who grew up in the United States will lose their work authorization and come under the immediate threat of deportation.
A coalition of leaders from across the country: Governors, Mayors, city, town, and state elected officials, including law enforcement professionals, and spiritual leaders have come together to stand with Dreamers at withdreamers.com.
Both the Town of Taos and Taos County elected officials have passed resolutions to protect our fellow citizens. Once again I ask our elected officials, our spiritual leaders, and our law enforcement leaders to come forward to show that they as individuals support the Dreamers in our community by signing this document at #withdreamers.
We must continue to stand together.
