If you love Taos, despite its potholes, crazy signs and unpredictable weather, now is the chance to vote give it some love in an online ballot.
Town of Taos officials announced that the town has been nominated as one of the best Southwestern small towns in USA Today’s “10Best Reader’s Choice” voting contest.
The public can vote once per day through Monday (April 24), and the town that receives the most votes will be declared the winner on Friday (April 28).
Taos is one of three New Mexico towns in the running, competing for the “best” title against Cloudcroft and Madrid. Other towns on the list include Marfa, Texas, and Moab, Utah. Each town must have a population of less than 10,000.
Towns on the list were chosen based on their beauty, culture, dining, entertainment, shopping and lodging opportunities.
“With its beautiful landscapes, tight-knit community and rich history, Taos is a great example of what makes the Southwest region so special,” said Karina Armijo, director of marketing and tourism for the town of Taos. “We are honored to be nominated among so many other great towns. Now, we need everyone to vote!”
Taos is no stranger to the 10Best Reader’s Choice contest and won the title for best ski town in 2016.
