The following is a condensed version of Taos Police Department reports from Aug. 30-Sept. 4.
1:12 a.m. Welfare check, Walmart – A man at the south entrance to the store was yelling and appeared to be highly intoxicated.
2:21 a.m. Law, unknown problem, Holy Cross Hospital – An officer was needed to speak with a mother about the release of her daughter, who is suicidal.
7:36 a.m. Battery, Kit Carson Road – The caller stated that a woman was walking by and spit on a store owner.
7:54 a.m. Law, unknown problem, Super Save – A man was being attacked by some people behind the store. The man told the dispatcher he was armed with a knife and was heading to a nearby bus stop.
10:07 a.m. Disturbing the peace, Juan Largo Lane – A man was playing a guitar and yelling at people as they passed by.
10:17 a.m. Law, unknown problem, Walgreens – The caller advised that several men were arguing and appeared to be preparing to fight. One of the men had pulled a knife, the caller said.
11 a.m. Welfare check, Albertsons – An intoxicated man on a bicycle was trying to start a fight.
12:33 p.m. Criminal damage, Ferguson Lane – The caller advised that someone had broken some windows at his residence.
1:26 p.m. Welfare check, Kit Carson Road – A man crashed a bicycle near Taos Plaza. He returned a while later to pick up the bike and throw it to the side of the road. He was talking to himself and waving his arms.
1:43 p.m. Welfare check, Walgreens – A man in the north side parking lot was leaning against a light pole and screaming.
6:14 p.m. Shoplifting, Albertsons – The caller wanted to report an individual they witnessed shoplifting some shampoo bottles and other items.
6:47 p.m. Harassment, McDonald's – The caller advised that he had asked two men to stop panhandling. The men got offended and started throwing rocks. One of them pulled a knife.
12:45 a.m. Welfare check, Walmart – There was a man with one arm and one leg passed out in a wheelchair. The caller wanted a welfare check to see if he needed an ambulance.
1:28 a.m. Theft of motor vehicle, Burch Street – The caller advised that a vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot in front of their apartment.
11:03 a.m. Disturbing the peace, Taos Public Library – There was a naked man in the bathroom who was mumbling that he is a danger to himself.
11:47 a.m. Welfare check, John Dunn Shops (bathroom) – A man went into the public bathroom screaming and yelling. He was refusing to come out. The caller thought he was doing drugs.
12:58 p.m. Parking violation, La Lomita Road – There were workers in the area and people were parking along the road. The caller thought the cars posed a danger to the workers.
3:14 p.m. Battery, former Burger King – The caller advised that about 10 men were near the former Burger King and that eight of them were watching as two were fighting. An officer arrived to discover that no fight had taken place, but that the crowd was trying to break up an argument.
5:44 p.m. Shoplifting, Albertsons – Two women were caught stealing bottles of liquor.
7:10 a.m. Be on the lookout, Shell station (south) – A gray Jeep was spotted heading northbound on Paseo del Pueblo Sur traveling at a high rate of speed and swerving in and out of the roadway.
8:41 a.m. Traffic hazard, Fred Baca Park – Town of Taos employees were working on the roadway near the park. One lane was closed. Drivers were failing to slow down. They were driving at a high rate of speed past the workers.
2:07 p.m. Harassment, Kit Carson Road – A person was threatening a landlord outside a residence.
5:19 p.m. Disorderly conduct, El Taoseño – A couple of vagrants appeared to be fighting between the restaurant and the gas station.
5:57 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Wired? Café – An individual was reportedly breaking into the café.
9:04 p.m. Battery, Espinoza Road – Four people were fighting. The caller could not see them using any weapons.
12:23 a.m. Disturbing the peace, El Cerrito Apartments – A loud party at one of the units was disturbing another tenant.
8:25 a.m. Shoplifting, Albertsons – There was a shoplifter out in front of the store who was becoming combative.
10:07 a.m. Reckless driver, Paseo del Pueblo Norte – There was a driver in a black Chevrolet Camaro driving recklessly through town.
11:40 a.m. Law, unknown problem, Video Casa – The caller stated that a man threatened her with a knife.
1:11 p.m. Citizen assist, Camino de la Serna – The caller couldn't get out of his car because a dog was being aggressive in the area.
2:44 p.m. Reckless driver, Kit Carson Park – A silver car was seen doing donuts in the back parking lot. The caller believed this vehicle is part of a local racing group.
2:49 p.m. Shoplifting, Mariposa Boutique – The caller said that a woman attempted to steal items from a sales rack. The store owner confronted her and took photos of her.
2:56 p.m. Domestic disturbance, Carson Trail – A man beat up a woman, who was bleeding from her forehead. The caller was requesting medical attention.
3:17 p.m. Trespassing, Walmart – A man was walking into the north side entrance to the store and calling customers inappropriate names.
12:23 a.m. Shots fired, Paseo del Pueblo Sur – The caller advised that she heard nine gunshots in the area around Allsup's.
12:29 a.m. Shots fired, Paseo del Pueblo Sur – The caller advised that a man was seen in a black Chevrolet TrailBlazer shooting out the lights around Walmart.
7 a.m. Criminal damage, Henningsen Fine Art – Some individuals were seen vandalizing the property. The owner could hear them outside.
1:54 p.m. Shoplifting, Dollar General – A man wearing a baseball hat, a white T-shirt and black shorts went into the store and stole some items.
2:52 p.m. Property lost, Allsup's (south) – A man called from Ratón and stated that he was at the gas station in Taos and thought he left his 9mm Glock 43 in the bathroom.
8:16 p.m. Reckless driver, Kit Carson Park – About 10 cars were seen driving at a high rate of speed around the south side parking lot.
9:59 p.m. Larceny, Camino de Santiago – The caller advised that a solar light was stolen from the end of his driveway within the last hour.
4:12 p.m. Traffic accident, injury, Paseo del Pueblo Sur – A woman drove into a ditch and was unable to get out.
5:23 p.m. Shoplifting, Albertsons – A man had been detained for shoplifting.
5:42 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Lotaburger (north) – A man was upset that the cooks forgot to put a patty on his burger.
10:28 p.m. Alcohol offense, adult, Ranchitos Housing – Some people were seen drinking alcohol in a truck.
10:31 p.m. Welfare check, El Taoseño – The caller advised that a driver in a white Chevrolet sedan was driving the wrong direction and almost hit him. The sedan had pulled into El Taoseño.
10:37 p.m. Warrant, Taos Lifestyle – Some kids were on the roof throwing things off.
11:25 p.m. Assault, El Camino Lodge – The caller advised that two men were fighting outside. One of the men had a gun and the other was telling him to shoot him.
