A resident of Santa Barbara, California, passed on July 17, 2017, one
day shy of his 61st birthday. Rick was born in Santa Monica, California and spent his early years in Santa Barbara, later moving to Phoenix, Arizona with his family. He attended Northern Arizona
University where he met his wife Susan. He had a successful 20-year commercial
photography career in Phoenix and later became a realtor in Taos, New Mexico. An athlete, he ran the Grand Canyon rim to rim, mountain biked, water & snow skied and anything else that involved the outdoors. Rick practiced Iyengar yoga at the Santa Barbara Yoga Center and credits this to helping him navigate his last years with grace. He loved travel and visited Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Pacific Islands & many places in Mexico. Rick is known for organizing impromptu dinner parties, hikes and other gatherings. He loved growing food & cooking. His irreverent sense of humor, generous
nature and love for life will be missed. Rick is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan Raymond, brother Jeff Raymond, sisters Robin Speranza & Kim Kriner, and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carol Jeanne & Rawlin Robert Raymond.
