The Big Ol’ Texas Weekend

Angel Fire Resort is throwing its 13th Annual “Big Ol’ Texas Weekend” Jan. 27-29.

The weekend includes a live music festival featuring up and coming country, red dirt and americana artists. The combined weekend event is part of an annual appreciation weekend to thank the ski area’s loyal Southern guests and Texas crowd, which makes up over 50 percent of its winter visitors.

While the weekend focuses on its Texas roots, all guests will enjoy the themed entertainment and western focused events around the resort.

“Celebrating Texas skiers on our New Mexico ski mountain becomes more of a party each season. It’s something we look forward to hosting,” explains Mike Hess, chief marketing officer, Angel Fire Resort. “The Big Ol’ Texas Weekend has always been an ideal time to come visit Angel Fire Resort. Now with the weekend including the Whiskey and Powder live music festival this is a bucket list event to check out if you’re a fan of country music and enjoy skiing.”

The weekend includes numerous live band performances throughout the resort, a poker tournament, a steak-eating contest, beer and whiskey tastings, BBQ and ski deals. The Denim and Diamonds three-course dinner, Jim Beam Whiskey Tasting event and live music at the Country Club is an ideal tie-in to a weekend on the slopes.
