The Taos Tigers dropped their third straight District 2-4A game against the West Las Vegas Dons 35-27 on the road Oct. 20.
The Tigers managed to stay close to the Dons throughout the first three quarters - even tying the ballgame at 21 in the third quarter - before West Las Vegas closed out the game with 14 points in the final period. A crucial turnover by Taos (pass interception) with just under four minutes to go in the game proved to be a turning point in the game, as West would go on to score a 74-yard rushing touchdown to seal the deal and remain undefeated in league play.
Taos now sits at 5-3 overall and 1-3 in districts. The Tigers return home for a game against the Pojoaque Valley Elks Oct. 27.
