The Taos County Economic Development Corporation is hosting its annual fall festival at the Taos Food Center Sunday (Oct. 8) from 2-5 p.m.
The center is located at the TCEDC Business Park, 1021 Salazar Road in Taos. The festival will begin with a blessing and performance by dancers from Danza Azteca. Visitors can sample and buy Oso Good Food made at the Taos Food Center. In addition, Elise Olonia, curator, will present the "Water Sprite" statue donated to the center by the estate of the late artist Ted Egri at 3 p.m.
Taos Food Center is a 5,000-square-foot licensed commercial kitchen where people from Taos County can process food and make value-added food products, helping create economic opportunities for local families.
The center was developed by TCEDC in early 1997 and has provided space for more than 100 food entrepreneurs, helping a resurgence of the local food system in the county.
