Tigers winless streak among district teams extended in 50-38 loss

The Taos Tigers dropped another district game, and for the second consecutive contest, failed to score outside the thirties in a 50-38 loss to the St. Michael's Horsemen Jan. 20. Averaging just over 8.5 points per quarter in their last two outings, the Tigers (8-11, 0-2) have extended their winless streak against district teams to 11 games dating back to March, 2015 (state semifinal game against West Las Vegas).

The loss was also the first home defeat for Taos in the 2016-17 season.

The Tigers return to the friendly confines of Otero Gymnasium, as they hope to get back on track in their next district game against the West Las Vegas Dons Jan. 25. the Dons (11-4, 0-0) have yet to play a game in the district, but did play against Taos in the semi-finals of the Hope Christian Tournament Jan. 14. In that game West Las Vegas beat Taos 68-51.

Game time is 7 p.m.
