Taos Ski Valley continues its fun month of events with the first Taos Ski Valley Summer Wine Festival, which is scheduled to occur Friday through Sunday (Aug. 18-20).
“We are taking a different approach to the typical wine festival by offering a taste of not only wine, but also what makes Taos and Taos Ski Valley so special; our art, music and the beautiful surrounds,” Cecilia Cuff, director of food and beverage at Taos Ski Valley, says in a prepared statement. “We will have plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking and fly fishing, as well as amazing dining experiences accompanied by talented musicians. And of course, there will be lots of wine and intimate experiences with wine makers.”
Hosted outside on the Resort Plaza, Taos Ski Valley Summer Wine Festival activities begin Friday (Aug. 18) at 5 p.m. with the Welcome Center Speaker Series featuring New Mexico-based Vara Wines.
On Saturday morning (Aug. 19), attendees will get a chance to explore the valley with an array of activities beyond wine, such as mushrooming hikes, yoga and chocolate pairing sessions, as well as a wine education seminar. The pinnacle of the event is Saturday evening’s grand tasting, which starts at 5 p.m.
Weekend festival passes are available for $150 in advance and $175 the day of the event. Daily passes are available for $65 in advance and $75 day of for either Saturday or Sunday.
“Guests are invited to make it a weekend with a wine festival lodging package featuring a two-night stay at the all-new The Blake,” a press release from Digital Marketing Director Skylar Kraatz states. “The package is available from $600 and includes lodging, weekend festival entry, and scenic lift ride for two. To book, call Taos Central Reservations at (888) 569-1756 or visit Skitaos.com. Package is based on double occupancy and subject to taxes and fees. This is a 21 and over event.”
