New: 'FALL ARTS' EXHIBITION: Volunteers are called to assist with setup and installation of the "Fall Arts" exhibition (Sept. 11-21) and for daily hosting of morning or afternoon shifts (Sept. 22-Oct. 1). NORTHCENTRAL NEW MEXICO VETERAN'S TRANSPORTATION NETWORK is a new nonprofit veterans organization to provide transportation to approved medical facilities for disabled veterans. Ongoing: COMMUNITY AGAINST VIOLENCE seeks volunteers for front desk and telephone reception, office work, fundraising, events, landscaping, the CAV Thrift Store and community outreach efforts. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF TAOS is looking for volunteers to assist at the Habitat ReStore. Unloading and loading donations, pricing items, cleaning and organizing are just some things volunteers may do. Volunteers who compile 35 hours of service will get a 20 percent discount to use at the ReStore. For more information, call (575) 758-7827.

HARWOOD MUSEUM OF ART seeks volunteers to assist with the documentation of art collections through digital photography. Under general supervision, the volunteer will handle and photograph artworks, digitally process captured images and maintain organization of processed files while performing related location, studio and darkroom functions. HEART OF TAOS, the organization helping homeless and imminently homeless women and their children and pets of Taos County, is seeking volunteers to help with transportation for women. SOMOS, the literary society of Taos, seeks volunteers to help sort, shelve and sell used books Tuesdays-Fridays from 1:30-4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Potential volunteers should call (575) 758-0081, email somos@somostaos.org or stop by 108 Civic Plaza Drive.

STRAY HEARTS VOLUNTEERS: Needed are dog socializers and walkers, cat petters and drivers to transport animals. Call (575) 758-2981.

TAOS THRESHOLD CHOIR is open to new members who love to sing and can communicate kindness with their voice. The choir is a community of women singers who volunteer their voices to bring comfort at an important threshold of life. Members sing a cappella at the bedside of hospice clients. YOUTH HEARTLINE seeks CASA volunteers, advocates for foster kids. Training in the child welfare system, developmental psychology and legal advocacy provided. Contact Yasmin Haque.
