New: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF TAOS is looking to host team building days. Group members will bond and help their community by building homes during a "Habitat Build Day" especially for their group. For more information, call (575) 758-7827.

TAOS EDUCATION AND CAREER CENTER seeks dedicated volunteers to work with students in the following subject areas: literacy, English as a second language and math. The center works with adult students who have a wide range of skill levels, all below college level. AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY seeks English-speaking and bilingual volunteers for its Road to Recovery, which provides transportation for cancer patients to and from treatments, and Look Good Feel Better, which helps female cancer patients cope with appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, programs. BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS provides mentoring relationships for boys and girls ages 5-18 through school- and community-based programs. COMMUNITY AGAINST VIOLENCE seeks volunteers for front desk and telephone reception, office work, fundraising, events, landscaping, the CAV Thrift Store and community outreach efforts. 'FALL ARTS' EXHIBITION: Volunteers are called to assist with setup and installation of the "Fall Arts" exhibition (Sept. 11-21) and for daily hosting of morning or afternoon shifts (Sept. 22-Oct. 1). HARWOOD MUSEUM OF ART seeks volunteers to assist with the documentation of art collections through digital photography. Under general supervision, the volunteer will handle and photograph artworks, digitally process captured images and maintain organization of processed files while performing related location, studio and darkroom functions. HEART OF TAOS, the organization helping homeless and imminently homeless women and their children and pets of Taos County, is seeking volunteers to help with transportation for women. HOLY CROSS HOSPITAL AUXILIARY seeks volunteers to serve their community hospital. Adult men and women are needed in the gift shop, day surgery and as patient advocates. NONVIOLENCE WORKS, INC. seeks committed volunteer mentors who are willing to spend one hour per week with mentee. Mentorship is about creating a genuine, reliable friendship with a young person, and it can truly make a difference in the lives of Taos youth. TAOS MOUNTAIN BALLOON RALLY ASSOCIATION (TMBRA) seeks new members to help host the invitational. The organization seeks people who have skills with budgets, media and soliciting and coordinating vendors, sponsors and local businesses. The choir is a community of women singers who volunteer their voices to bring comfort at an important threshold of life. Members sing a cappella at the bedside of hospice clients.
