Donor matches Stray Hearts gifts until Dec. 15

Double your gift, says Stray Hearts Animal Shelter officials.

“A kind donor has provided a matching grant up to $5,000 and will double your donation through December 15th,” said the nonprofit located in Taos. “The animals at Stray Hearts need your generous donations to help them get a fresh start with a forever home. Please donate today.”

The donor was not identified.

Stray Hearts said there are additional ways to donate other than cash. The group has a “wish list” of items that it needs. The list includes toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, non-clumping cat litter, dish soap and more. Some specialized wish list items include a wheelbarrow, gravel for outside the kennels and a new walkie-talkie system.

For a full list of items needed, contact the shelter at (575) 758-2981 or email Items can be dropped off at the shelter between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Stray Heart’s is located at 1200 St. Francis Lane.

Stray Hearts also wants Taos County residents to know that November is “Adopt a Senior Pet Month.” The public can visit the shelter’s senior dogs and cats or check them out online first at
