Scooby Doo's Mystery Machine, a taco and a Taos Air airplane were among the many cardboard creations that pilots steered down a racecourse at Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort on Saturday (March 16.)
The resort's 16th annual Cardboard Derby saw community members unite in friendly competition for a range of prizes valued at $1,500.
Contestants were to hand-build vessels using only duct tape, cardboard, string or twine, with points awarded for creativity and how close vessels came to steering into a bull's eye drawn in the snow at the base of the mountain. For more, see the photo gallery at taosnews.com.
