Early voting begins in May


They are shaping up to be heated battles for positions on the Taos County commission and for Taos County Sheriff, plus lots is at stake in the upcoming June primary races for governor and other statewide races. For a list of candidates and races, go to www.taoscounty.org .

The lowdown for voting

May 8:  Voter registration closes and absentee ballots mailed out.

May 19:  Early voting begins.

June 2:  Early voting ends.

Early voting locations and hours

  • Taos County Complex – Monday through Friday, normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Peñasco Community Center, Questa Municipal Offices and Old Armory (El Prado) – Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
