Nuke talk on safety and action-- The Green Party of Taos County will hold an event titled "Los Alamos Labs: Call for Resolution" Saturday (Jan. 20) at 3 p.m. to hear from local activists about the national labs south of Taos.

Santa Fe passed a resolution in 2017 calling for more funding, action and training around safety at the labs and asked that nuclear bomb production be suspended until safety issues are resolved. Participants at Saturday's talk will discuss plans for bringing similar resolutions before governing bodies in the town of Taos and Taos County. Space is limited to 25 people and reservations can be made by calling (575) 758-4035.

Young farmers to shape policy -- Young farmers will meet in Santa Fe at the Roundhouse Jan. 23-24 to forge relationships, lobby legislators and craft food and agriculture policy for the coming years, according to a newsletter from the Northern New Mexico Young Farmers Alliance. The two-day gathering is hosted by the alliance as well as the National Young Farmers Coalition and the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union. Find out more at youngfarmers.org.
