Holy Cross Hospital to hold board July 25

Posted

Holy Cross Hospital will hold a board meeting at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday (July 25), at the hospital board room in Taos.

The meeting follows a Taos County Commission meeting held July 10, where current and former staff, as well as Taos residents, expressed frustration regarding ongoing financial troubles at the hospital that led to a series of staff resignations and layoffs earlier this year.

Several speakers who took the microphone during the meeting directed blame at Holy Cross CEO Bill Patten, who has taken aggressive measures to restore financial health – and employee morale – at Holy Cross.

Although Patten has delivered regular reports to the community, indicating his faith in returning financial strength at the hospital and staff that is being rebuilt, Taos County Manager Leandro Cordova said this month that many citizen and staff concerns are accurate.

More should be learned this evening.
