Letter: H.O.P.E. notes continue

Posted

On the 9th of December my program, The Taos H.O.P.E. Project, and volunteers with Common Ground went out to the bridge for the monks’ ceremony and we brought hundreds of little notes of positivity and hope to hang on the bridge; and people loved it and I believe it helped someone take a step back and rethink. Sadly, the DOT will not let the little notes stay up as they are considered a roadside distraction. This is very sad because I have a lot of support from high officials and lots of teens. These notes mean a lot. They are a positive way at looking and acknowledging suicide and they help. This has been done on other bridges and has saved many lives. But for now, I will just keep putting them up until there is a change made.

If anyone wants to make notes to be put up, you can mail them to P.O. Box 729, El Prado NM 87529, and if anyone would like to be involved with the Taos H.O.P.E. Project, please email taoshopeproject@gmail.com
