The following is a condensed version of Taos Police Department reports from Jan. 17-22.

Jan. 17

7:23 a.m. Animal stray, Pat Woodall Gallery – A brown dog was tied to a tree, and no one was around.

11:59 a.m. Animal abuse, Taos Plaza – The caller wanted to speak with an officer regarding video they had recorded of a man behind their business dragging a puppy. They said the man was headed toward Kit Carson Park.

1:34 p.m. Burglary residential, Spruce Lane – The caller said that their garage had been broken into.

3:10 p.m. Criminal damage, Taos High School – A student was drifting in a vehicle in the parking lot.

4:45 p.m. Loitering, Chevron, 823 Paseo del Pueblo Sur – An intoxicated man was in the store and wouldn’t leave when asked.

11:42 p.m. Domestic disturbance, Ranchitos Road – A woman was drunk and hitting her brother.

Jan. 18

3:05 a.m. Suspicious circumstance, Camino de la Placitas – The caller said that someone rang her doorbell.

9:24 a.m. Traffic accident, private property, Taos Spa & Tennis Club – A driver was headed to the spa and struck a utility pole as he was turning into the parking lot.

11:57 a.m. Traffic accident, no injury, Camino de la Placitas – The caller advised three or four vehicles were involved in an accident.

3:16 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Camino del Medio – A man was threatening “suicide by cop,” the caller said.

4:29 p.m. Criminal damage, Kit Carson Road – The caller said their mailbox had been pried open.

6:49 p.m. Alcohol offense juvenile, Walmart – An underage person was drinking by the side of the building.

Jan. 19

12:56 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Los Pandos Road – The caller said some homeless people were trying to live on the caller’s property.

1:57 p.m. Medical unknown, Kit Carson Park – A man was seen slumped over in the bushes.

2:23 p.m. Animal abuse, Juan Largo Lane – A man was beating up a dog in the alleyway.

2:59 p.m. Larceny, Kit Carson Road – A customer stole a piece of fine art from a gallery.

5:31 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Taos Youth & Family Center – A parent outside was asking the kids in the skate park to stop cussing. She said she had gone out there a couple times and wanted the kids removed.

Jan. 20

1:52 a.m. Animal noise, Montoya Street – The caller said there was a large dog outside that had been barking all night.

2 a.m. Trespassing, DreamTree Project – The caller said that lights were on in one of the unoccupied buildings. They wanted an officer to check it out.

10:54 a.m. Criminal damage, Kit Carson Road – The caller said that someone had broken into his house. The doors were kicked in and a TV had been stolen.

11:02 a.m. Breaking and entering, Taos Food Co-op – The caller said the office had been broken into. They weren’t sure if anything had been stolen.

11:34 a.m. Welfare check, King Mortgage – Someone was lying face down in front of the building.

3:54 p.m. Welfare check, Smith’s – A panhandler in a camo baseball cap with a beard was throwing rocks at vehicles.

4:40 p.m. Animal stray, Este Es Road – Two brown dogs were jumping on people as they walked by and attacking a smaller dog that was chained up.

7:06 p.m. Shots fired, Camino del Medio – The caller said they heard what sounded like a shotgun shot in the area.

7:14 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, Walmart – A man was trying to open doors on the south side of the building.

7:17 p.m. Shoplifting, Smith’s – An employee said two women stole some alcohol and then took off in a red Charger headed southbound on Paseo del Pueblo Sur.

8:25 p.m. Welfare check, Albertsons – A man who appeared to have been beaten up was sitting on a bench outside the store.

Jan. 21

1:11 p.m. Animal abuse, Smith’s – A man in a leather jacket was abusing a dog.

1:12 p.m. Larceny, Beall’s – A male suspect stole a sweater and T-shirts. He then took off in a gold Ford Edge.

2:36 p.m. Public affray, Walgreens – Two men were hitting each other with sticks.

6:09 p.m. Shoplifting, Dollar General – A woman wearing a blue jacket left the store with a basket full of items and took off in a gold Honda Accord.

9:01 p.m. Battery, Paseo del Pueblo Sur – The caller said her children were fighting with their father.

10:20 p.m. Reckless driver, Walmart – Three cars were doing “cookies” in the parking lot.

Jan. 22

 9:24 a.m. Breaking and entering, Wired Café – The café was broken into last night. Multiple doors were broken. The caller was still trying to determine if anything had been taken.

10:15 a.m. Law, unknown problem, Santistevan Road – A man attacked another man with a kitchen knife.

11:19 a.m. Prowler, Felicidad Lane – The caller had found footprints leading over the fence toward DreamTree Project for the past two days.

12:16 p.m. Burglary commercial, DreamTree Project – The caller said they had a break in. Damage had been done to windows and a door.

12:47 p.m. Animal stray, Taos Middle School – Three dogs were in the area where the buses park. One appeared to have an injured leg.

3:55 p.m. Welfare check, Chevron, 823 Paseo del Pueblo Sur – A man was passed out on a trash can near the door.

6:32 p.m. Larceny, Verizon Wireless – The caller wanted to report a theft at the store.
