Dozens of runners took place in the annual Taos Marathon

Letizia Hugelshofer approaches the finish line in Kit Carson Park after being the first woman to complete the full marathon in the 32nd annual Taos Marathon Sunday (June 3). The 13.1 and 5K runs began at 7 a.m. at the "cattle guard" entrance to Taos Pueblo, while the full 26.2 mile run began at 5 a.m.

"The last marathon I did was in Boston," Hugelshofer said, "and it was huge, but it feels super nice when it's all small and familiar and it's very nice. I really liked it." The shorter races were among town streets, while the full marathon took in the sights along Hondo Mesa.

Race results have not been made available as yet. As soon as they are, this story will be updated.
