Marcos Alejandro Gonzales, Taos High 2003 graduate and son of Sen. Roberto "Bobby" and Charlene Gonzales, is running for Bernalillo County District 3 commissioner. In a statement from his campaign, Gonzales said he has worked in government and economic development for over a decade. His campaign said with his "experience and pro-business perspective, he will be ready to tackle issues in the district on day one.

If elected, he plans to focus on: economic development, public safety and affordable housing. "Marcos knows the power of community support, something he learned in his youth, growing up in Taos," according to a statement.

Gonzales will be hosting a campaign party for his launch for Bernalillo County District 3 commissioner on Sunday (Jan. 19) from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at O'Niell's Pub, 4310 Central Avenue SE in Albuquerque.
