The following is a condensed version of Taos Police reports from May 15-19.

May 15

2:36 a.m. Assault, Allsup’s, 507 Paseo del Pueblo Norte – A caller said two men were fighting outside the store.

7:08 a.m. Suspicious circumstance, Taos Middle School – A caller said a man in a safari hat and fluorescent jacket was talking to students. An officer learned that the man was handing out Bibles.

12:55 p.m. Welfare check, Hampton Inn – A caller wanted an officer to come by because there were some young adults riding bikes in the parking lot, scaring away customers.

1:29 p.m. Property found, Fernandez Road – A caller said she found some hypodermic needles at the end of her driveway and wanted someone to come pick them up.

2:02 p.m. Welfare check, Holy Cross Hospital – A caller said a man wearing a camo shirt was highly intoxicated, stumbling and yelling at people.

4:07 p.m. Welfare check, Paseo del Pueblo Norte – A caller said a woman in a silver car pulled off to the side of the road and was hitting someone in the passenger seat.

9:34 p.m. Shots fired, McDonald’s – A caller said four kids were in the parking lot and one of them had just shot a gun.

May 16

8:51 a.m. Welfare check, Gusdorf Road – Some employees thought they heard a woman screaming at Sean Kelly Portraits. When an officer knocked on the door, a man answered and no woman appeared to be inside.

10:43 a.m. Seizure or convulsion, Town Hall Drive – A caller said an alcoholic man in the area was afraid he was going to have a seizure. He has a history of withdrawal seizures and does not take medication. Medics later took the man to Holy Cross Hospital.

12:45 p.m. Burglary commercial, Paseo del Pueblo Norte – A caller said their storage building had been broken into.

1:41 p.m. Be on the lookout, Salazar Road – A caller said an elderly man was driving northbound. He was swerving in and out of the roadway. He almost hit a group of kids.

5:39 p.m. Harassment, Albertsons – A caller said another man was harassing him and trying to fight after he got off at the bus stop.

10:52 p.m. Welfare check, Allsup’s, 1050 Paseo del Pueblo Sur – A caller said a woman who came in wearing a backpack had been in the bathroom for a long time and was possibly doing drugs.

May 17

12:14 a.m. Trespassing, Gil's Barber Shop – A caller said that man kept showing up at his apartment looking for his girlfriend.

8:30 a.m. Burglary automobile, Super Save – A caller said a man had tried to steal a truck from an employee, but was unsuccessful and took off running.

10:37 a.m. Narcotics offense juvenile, Taos Middle School – A caller said a student was in the office who was found in possession of marijuana.

3:15 p.m. Alcohol offense adult, New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department – A caller said a woman in a blue SUV was drinking alcohol. The woman later told an officer she was waiting for a friend and admitted to having a beer. She said her friend was going to be driving.

5:26 p.m. Welfare check, Harwood Museum of Art – A caller said a man was passed out behind a cement barrier in the area. She had asked him to leave, but he was still there.

8:27 p.m. Welfare check, Kachina Lodge – A caller said she had received a call from her friend, who told her she had been beaten up by her boyfriend.

9:56 p.m. Public affray, Ranchitos Housing Authority – A caller said there were several people by the office who looked like they were about to start fighting. Three men in the group were shirtless, but the caller couldn't see if anyone had any weapons.

May 18

2:46 a.m. Disorderly conduct, Holy Cross Hospital – A caller said there was a patient in the hospital who was becoming agitated and yelling at staff.

5:54 p.m. Domestic disturbance, Camino de la Merced – A caller said a kid ran up to her house and asked her to call 911 because she said her mom and dad were fighting.

12:01 p.m. Traffic accident, no injury, Paseo del Pueblo Norte – A caller said she witnessed a driver in a white truck drive off the roadway and down the hill into the corral area.

2:36 p.m. Traffic accident, private property, Ace Hardware – A caller said a U-Haul trailer hit his vehicle in the parking lot.

3:31 p.m. Larceny, Stray Hearts Animal Shelter – A caller said a woman took a puppy and left without filling out the paperwork. The woman later returned the animal to the shelter.

6:12 p.m. Welfare check, Hatchery Road – A caller was requesting a welfare check on her father, who she said is known to take hallucinogenic drugs.

8:02 p.m. Battery, Los Pandos Road – A caller said a man had started attacking him.

9:18 p.m. Harassment, Smith's – A caller said a man and two women were screaming randomly at people at the front of the store.

May 19

8:46 a.m. Alarm commercial, Taos Public Library – A caller said a woman had flagged her down and to say she thought an alarm was going off at the library.

4:04 p.m. Disturbing the peace, Guadalajara Grill (north) – A caller said two men were fighting outside.

6:25 p.m. Information report, Gusdorf Place – A caller said an 11-year-old old boy shot her son in the head with a BB gun. An officer later confiscated a BB gun.

7:30 p.m. Welfare check, Taos Post Office, 318 Paseo del Pueblo Norte – A caller said a homeless man was smoking inside the post office.

7:41 p.m. Reckless driver, Walmart – A caller said a driver in a white car with tinted windows was doing doughnuts in the field by the carnival.
