Taos Ski Valley will open one lift and select terrain on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 23).
Two beginner runs and a magic carpet will be accessible by the Pioneer Lift, according to a Nov. 20 press release from the Ski Valley.
Pioneer Lift will be open from Thursday to Sunday (Nov. 26) and again Dec. 1-3. The resort plans to open daily starting Dec. 8 as conditions permit. Available lifts and terrain will be announced.
Lifts operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Lift tickets for Pioneer Lift will be available at discounted rates. Adults can ski for $25; teens, seniors, and military/service members for $15; and youth for $10. Skiers under the age of six and over 80 ski free every day, according to the press release.
"We are grateful for a world-class snowmaking crew and very excited to kick off the winter season," said John Kelly, director of mountain operations. "Our next focus is making snow on key trails accessible by Lift 1 so that we can continue to expand available terrain for our skiers and riders."
